NBA All-Star Weekend 2013: David Lee, Stephen Curry headline GSW participants

David Lee made the Western Conference squad as a reserve, and perhaps Stephen Curry should have, but there's still plenty of of Bay Area representation in Houston as the stars will be out in full force Feb. 15-17.

A quick look at the NBA All-Star Weekend's schedule will show that the events from top to bottom are stacked with Golden State Warriors.

David Lee is Golden State's first All-Star since 1997, when Latrell Sprewell still roamed the court in the East Bay. This year, a total of four Warriors will be featured in the three-day festival celebrating the NBA's best and brightest.

On Friday in the Rising Stars competition, Harrison Barnes and Klay Thompson will join Team Shaq and showcase the skills that have helped propel their team back to Western Conference relevancy.

Stephen Curry will be a key component of the West's bid to win the title in the inaugural NBA All-Star Saturday night format as he participates in the three-point contest along with Matt Bonner of the San Antonio Spurs and Ryan Anderson of the New Orleans Hornets.

The new format will feature the East vs. the West in four events on Saturday. The winning team will be the conference that has the most points at the end of All-Star Saturday night, with the winning squad getting a cash prize to donate to the charity of their choice.

Chris Paul of the Los Angeles Clippers will captain the West while the Miami Heat's Dwyane Wade will lead the East.
