The Golden State Warriors made the road their home, making history on the way. The team finished their recent seven-game road trip with a 6-1 record, the best such mark in franchise history.
There was doubt surrounding the Warriors' strong start to the season, but this road trip could serve as validation for a young team that has figured out its identity under second-year head coach Mark Jackson. They beat the Miami Heat, Brooklyn Nets and Atlanta Hawks during the trip. David Lee put up at least 20 points and 10 rebounds in each game. And Stephen Curry is turning into one of the elite young guards in the game.
Their record is the fifth-best in the Western Conference, and they trail only the Los Angeles Clippers in the Pacific Division. This team is for real, even if that terminology has no solid definition. Whatever term you want to use for a team that will be reckoned with as the season progresses, it needs to be applied to the Golden State Warriors.
