The Golden State Warriors have been one of the early surprises in the NBA and find themselves in the heart of most NBA power rankings. Meanwhile, the Sacramento Kings have struggled and have one victory against those very Warriors to show for any positive vibes.
The Warriors sit somewhere in the 18 and 19 range in three NBA power rankings. Seth Rosenthal of SB Nation and Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! each have Golden State at No. 18 while Marc Stein of ESPN has them at 19th despite Brandon Rush's unfortunate ACL tear.
The surprise of the rankings came from CBS Sports. Matt Moore slid the Warriors to 13th place, up five slots from his last power rankings post; and that came after Golden State fell to the Kings.
And what about those Kings? Sacramento is tabbed as the third-worst team in the NBA by Spears and Stein, and Rosenthal has the Kings just a spot higher at No. 27 as both the backcourt and the frontcourt haven't exactly played up to their expectations.
Moore has Sacramento coming in No. 25 thanks to a defense that isn't as bad as first suspected.
