At No. 22 in the ESPN power rankings, the Golden State Warriors will go as far as their newly-acquired center Andrew Bogut can take them. Given the news that the former Milwaukee Bucks star will be sidelined for at least a week after suffering a setback on his troubled ankle, that doesn't appear to be a good sign for Bay Area NBA fans.
Forward Brandon Rush suffered a torn ACL and will miss the remainder of the season in another devastating blow to the team. The injury bug has stuck early for Golden State, and any effort to climb up in the rankings will have to be made by its budding stars in the backcourt, Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry.
The 28th-ranked Sacramento Kings have issues of attrition as well, though not from injuries. Rookie Thomas Robinson and star big man DeMarcus Cousins each missed games due to conduct issues, and cost the team because of their actions on and off the court. The Warriors will try to bring their 3-4 record to .500 when they host the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday. The Kings will play the Portland Trail Blazers at home on Tuesday.
