NBA scores: Warriors squeeze out an 87-85 win over Phoenix

The Warriors didn't look very good in their regular season opener in Phoenix on Wednesday, but lucky for them, the Suns looked worse. Check out all of our blogs' recaps at sbnation.com/nba-scores.

Golden State Warriors 87, Phoenix Suns 85

The Warriors (1-0) won a battle of futility on Wednesday night in Phoenix. Shooting guard Klay Thompson was the only Warriors starter to score in double figures, power forward David Lee shot 2-of-16 from the field, Stephen Curry shot 2-of-14, center Andrew Bogut only played 18 minutes, and highly-touted rookie small forward Harrison Barnes only spent 14 minutes on the floor, and somehow Golden State managed to walk away with a win. Carl Landry scored 17 points off the bench, Brandon Rush added 14 points in a reserve role, and backup point guard Jarrett Jack scored 10 points in 30 minutes of action.

Phoenix was led by point guard Goran Dragic, who had 17 points, eight assists and six rebounds. Power forward Luis Scola added 15 points and 11 rebounds, and small forward Jared Dudley finished with 11 points and six rebounds.

The Warriors will play host to the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday. Tipoff is slated for 7:30 p.m. PT at ORACLE Arena.
