Andris Biedrins has not been able to stay healthy for an entire season with the Warriors since 2008. When on the floor, Biedrins provides Golden State with a big time defensive presence in the paint and a solid rebounder. While it's tough to count on the seven footer for much of anything given his injury concerns, he feels he is primed for a solid campaign now that he feels fine physically.
Here is what Biedrins had to say in a recent CSN Bay Area article about his health and chances to return to form in 2012-13.
"I think it is (possible to get back to where he was)," Biedrins said. "I think physically I'm there. A lot has to do with just kind of believing in yourself more than I am. I've had frustrating years and you kind of stop believing in yourself so much as you did before - like three years ago. That's the main reason. But I think I can get there."
It will be interesting to see how Biedrins looks in the preseason. The Warriors won't want to push him too hard, but it'll be tough to get a true indication of his health and mobility if he doesn't see some playing time in training camp. He could be a big piece for Golden State as the team prepares to battle for a playoff spot in a tough Western Conference.
