Golden State Warriors center Andrew Bogut has been cleared to resume basketball-related activities by surgeon Dr. Richard Ferkel, the same doctor that performed the procedure to repair his fractured left ankle in January.
There's still no timetable for his official return to action, however, and it's still unclear whether or not he'll be available or ready to play when the Warriors open their 2012-2013 season on Oct. 31 against the Phoenix Suns.
Bogut has remained noncommittal when asked where he is in terms of his progress, but there are plenty of reason for Warriors fans to be optimistic. The ankle has responded well to treatment, and Bogut has done more on the court over the last few days.
The former Utah Ute was part of a trade by the Milwaukee Bucks in exchange for Monta Ellis and two other players, and will be a major part of the team's potential to improve on a 23-43 record a season ago.
