The Stanford Cardinal and California Golden Bears are moving in opposite directions as the calendar turns into November.
Stanford absolutely destroyed Colorado this weekend in Boulder, not allowing them any room to breathe in a 48-0 demolition of the Buffs. Stanford is sticking near the top of the conference, and has a chance to move up to be once again the premier threat to Oregon with a win over Oregon State this weekend. The Cardinal hold steady at third in the latest Pac-12 power rankings.
On the other side, Cal has dropped its third straight game in a row and has fallen out of the race for bowl eligibility after losing to Washington. With two games left against Oregon and Oregon State, it's unlikely the Bears will be able to reverse the downward spiral that is their season. They stick at 10th because they are still better than downtrodden Washington State or Colorado.
