With the end of the college football season in sight, the latest bowl projections are beginning to take on a degree of certainty. The Stanford Cardinal is the top team in the Bay Area, and it's currently on track to end up in the Rose Bowl. They would face the top team from the Big Ten, which SB Nation projects to be the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
Stanford is currently 9-2, having lost to only the then-No. 7 Notre Dame Fighting Irish and unranked Washington Huskies. Their standing in the Rose Bowl is based on a victory over UCLA in the Pac-12 championship game. Nebraska is also 9-2, and has won their last 5 straight. They have losses against the then-No. 12 Ohio State Buckeyes and to the UCLA Bruins. They're expected to beat Wisconsin in the Big Ten championship game.
Elsewhere in the Bay Area, the San Jose State Spartans are expected to face the Nevada Wolf Pack in the Hawaii Bowl.
