Oregon State vs. Stanford score update: Cardinal lead Beavers 14-0 after 1st quarter

With freshman quarterback Kevin Hogan making his first start of the season, the No. 14 Stanford Cardinal lead the visiting No. 11 Oregon State Beavers by the score of 14-0 after one quarter of play at Stanford Stadium.

Hogan has not missed a beat since coming onto the scene last week against Colorado, completing 9 of 12 passes for 117 yards and one touchdown. The freshman quarterback also picked up 26 yards on the ground, showing he can be a running and passing quarterback for Stanford.

The Beavers were unable to do anything against the stout Cardinal defense in the first quarter, punting the ball on both of their drives after picking up just a few yards of total offense. However, the Oregon State offense was able to get the ball to midfield as time expired in the first.

Stanford running back Stepfan Taylor helped Hogan in the offense, rushing for 39 yards in the first quarter and one touchdown.
