The Stanford Cardinal rose one spot to No. 17 in the Week 7 Coaches Poll, after falling to No. 18 in Week 6 due to their loss to the Washington Huskies.
Stanford recovered on Saturday, coming back from two scores down in the fourth quarter to defeat the Arizona Wildcats, 54-48, in overtime. After starting quarterback Josh Nunes struggled mightily against the Huskies, he bounced back by completing 21 of 34 passes for 360 yards and two touchdowns against the Wildcats. Nunes also ran for three scores in the shootout victory.
The Cardinal travel to the Midwest on Saturday to face the No. 7 Notre Dame Fighting Irish in Saturday's premier match-up.
Three other Pac-12 teams made the rankings, with Oregon tops at No. 2. The Ducks were the only team other than Alabama to receive a first-place vote. USC is back in the top 10 at No. 9, and the Oregon State Beavers have moved up to No. 14.
