The Stanford Cardinal played tough and nearly pulled out a victory at Notre Dame on Saturday, and that may have been enough for BlogPoll voters to keep them in the top 25. The Cardinal are No. 22 in this week's SB Nation BlogPoll, falling five spots after Saturday's loss.
Stanford received two votes for the top 10 in the ballots. One voter placed them as high as No. 6, while another had them at No. 10. Most had the Cardinal from Nos. 20 through 25, with the most common slot being No. 21.
Three other Pac-12 teams made appearances in the rankings. Oregon tops the pack at No. 2, while Oregon State rose two spots to No. 8. USC held at No. 12 for the second-straight week.
The Cardinal will look to bounce back from their disappointing loss to the Fighting Irish on Saturday with an oddly-timed edition of The Big Game. Stanford travels to Berkeley to face Cal, who is on a two-game winning streak after taking down Washington State.
