College basketball rankings: Stanford earns two votes in AP Preseason Top 25 Poll

Outside of Arizona and UCLA, the Stanford Cardinal appear to be the only other Pac-12 team close to top-25 status as they received two votes in the first poll of the season.

Stanford basketball received two votes from the AP in their preseason top-25 poll released Friday morning, making them the third best Pac-12 team in voters' eyes behind Arizona and UCLA.

Looking to build on their NIT championship season last year, the Cardinal are lead by a strong backcourt of Aaron Bright and Chasson Randle. Stanford will be tested early though with non-conference games against strong opponents like No. 15 Missouri and No. 6 North Carolina State.

Stanford faces UCLA for the first time on Jan. 5 for the second game of their Pac-12 schedule. The Cardinal don't face Arizona until Feb. 6 when they head to Tucson.
