Stanford vs. Washington preview: Cardinal face crucial matchup against Huskies

The Stanford Cardinal battle the Washington Huskies in a critical Pac-12 North matchup on Saturday.

Kyle Terada-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

The Stanford Cardinal are trying to prove that they are more than just Andrew Luck as they take their 3-0 team on the road to Seattle to take on the Washington Huskies. Stanford is coming off one of their most impressive wins of the season when they battered Matt Barkley and the USC Trojans into submission in a 21-14 victory.

Stanford looks to replicate the effort when they take on Keith Price and the Washington Huskies. Washington finally put together a dominant performance against overmatched Portland State, but they haven't looked terribly impressive in their remaining two contests, and they've suffered injuries at critical spots like the offensive line.

In comes Stanford with a very strong front seven that could make life very difficult for Price if he isn't able to adapt. It might be up to the Husky defense to force Josh Nunes to make mistakes and plug up the run if Washington is to have any hope of winning. It figures to be an exciting Thursday night contest.
