2012 Pac-12 Football Standings: Stanford Sits Atop North Division, Cal Falls Further In Cellar

Stanford and Cal are about as opposite as teams come through one week on Pac-12 play.

Presswire

The Stanford Cardinal (4-0) and California Golden Bears (1-3) are trending in opposite directions with one week of Pac-12 conference play under their belts.

With the week off, Stanford couldn't build on their 21-14 upset of then No. 2 ranked USC but they still remain one of three undefeated teams in the conference. They'll look to extend their Pac-12 reign when they head up to Washington to take on the Huskies (2-1) this Thursday.

Unfortunately for Cal, they had to face off against a USC team that was looking to prove that their loss to Stanford was a fluke. The Golden Bears were handed a 27-9 defeat and will now have to head to Tempe Saturday to face a Sun Devils team that has outscored their opponents 145-27 at home this season.
