NCAA Football Rankings, Week 5: Stanford Up To No. 9 Among The Coaches

With the Clemson Tigers and Oklahoma Sooners falling out of the Top 10 of the USA Today Coaches' Poll, the Stanford Cardinal were among the beneficiaries, climbing from No. 11 to No. 9 in the poll despite a weekend bye.

The Cardinal, who last weekend upset USC, now sit among the top 10 of both the AP and Coaches' polls, and they are the second-highest ranked team in the Pac-12 behind the Oregon Ducks, who are ranked second in both the Coaches' Poll and the AP Poll.

The Cardinal are looking up at the No. 8 Kansas State Wildcats, the team responsible for the Sooners' fall from the top-10 after an upset victory over Oklahoma in Norman. The Cardinal sit just 51 points behind the Wildcats.

The Cardinal, as with every team in the nation, continue to look up at the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide. USC fell one spot from No. 12 to No. 13.
