It wasn't a matter of if for former Stanford Cardinal standout Andrew Luck when it came to signing with the Indianapolis Colts but when, and according to a report from the Indianapolis Star the No. 1 overall pick has signed a 4-year deal with the team just a week before reporting to camp.

The exact value of the the deal was not readily available, though the NFL's new rookie salary scale means that the deal will closely resemble Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton, the No. 1 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. The deal is said to be 'fully guaranteed' though.

Newton signed for $22.05 million with a signing bonus of $14.5 million last year. Luck was not available for comment.

Now under his NFL contract, Luck will take part in a three-day rookie training camp prior to the Colts' full-team reporting date on July 28. Luck participated in the Colts' rookie minicamp back in May and their mandatory minicamp in June. Bu he missed all 10 of the club's OTA's while completing his degree at Stanford.
