San Francisco Chronicle Reporting Fail? Maryland AD Kevin Anderson Denies Taking Stanford Position

In what might end up being a pretty embarrasing moment for the San Francisco Chronicles, it looks as if they got their breaking story all wrong.

So Tom FitzGerald filed a report earlier this morning that had Terrapins athletic director Kevin Anderson leaving Maryland for Stanford to take their athletic director position. Unfortunately, FitzGerald had to use the dreaded word, "sources", and they seemed a bit sketchy to begin with.

Turns out this isn't the case, and now Anderson is vehemently denying any connection between him and the Stanford job. Ruh-roh.

So even if Anderson was interested in the Stanford AD position, it looks as if he's backing away from that position now. Looks like Stanford will have to find another athletic director to take their position.

Talk about Anderson with Maryland fans by heading on over to Testudo Times, and discuss Anderson with Stanford fans by checking out Rule of Tree.
