The 31-1 Stanford Cardinal, the Pac-12 champions have received another number one seed in the 2012 NCAA women's tournament. They will face Hampton in the first round, the MEAC champion. That game will take place Saturday at 10:30 AM PT in Norfolk, Virginia on ESPN.
If Stanford moves on, they will face the winner of West Virginia/Texas, who will be playing Saturday at 8:10 AM PT on ESPN2.
Stanford ends up in the Fresno region, which is the natural fit for them. Although these first two rounds are difficult location-wise, they shouldn't have too much trouble advancing to the Sweet 16 back in Fresno.
