Things slowed down after the second quarter of the 2012 Fiesta Bowl which saw five touchdowns. However, the third quarter did see its share of scoring as the Stanford Cardinal took a 28-24 lead into the fourth quarter over the Oklahoma St. Cowboys.
After an Oklahoma State drive stalled, the Cardinal took over on their own fifteen. They quickly moved to the other side of the field as Stepfan Taylor drove the team toward the endzone. He got them down to the 15-yard line where Andrew Luck hit Zach Ertz scored to make it 28-21.
After a little back-and-forth, Stanford RB Geoff Meinken fumbled on his own 4-yard line, setting up a prime opportunity for the Pokes to tie things up.
However, the Stanford defense held and OSU was forced to kick a field goal, making it 28-24.
Luck is now 17-of-24 for 247 yards, 2 TDs and 1 INT and has the Cardinal a quarter away from a Fiesta Bowl victory.
