The Stanford Cardinal have come out focused on Saturday and lead the Duke Blue Devils 7-0. The team has 103 total yards of offense already and one score.
The Cardinal received the kickoff and took nine plays to drive 85 yards down the field for a score. Andrew Luck found Chris Owusu on back-to-back plays early in the drive for gains of 11 yards and 43 yards. A combination of runs and passes over the next few plays resulted in a three-yard touchdown strike from Luck to Coby Fleener with 10:01 left in the quarter.
The Blue Devils strung together a good drive on the following possesson, setting themselves up to score but ultimately failing to do so. Duke got into the redzone, but the Cardinal defense clamped down and the Blue Devils failed to convert on a 27-yard field goal attempt by Will Snyderwine.
The Cardinal have struggled to score since then and went three-and-out in each of their next two possessions.
Luck has completed five of eight passes for 74 yards and one touchdown. Running back Stepfan Taylor has been efficient on the ground with 40 yards on seven carries. Owusu, meanwhile, leads the wide receivers with his two early receptions for 54 yards.
The Cardinal lead 7-0 after one quarter. Stanford has the ball and are at about midfield.
