UC Davis ran their distinctive zone defense to try and force Stanford to make outside shots. For awhile it worked, and Stanford led only 18-16 seven minutes in. Then the Cardinal started nailing shots from everywhere, and it was over. Nnemkadi Ogwumike put up 22 points and 7 rebounds to lead Stanford; Kayla Pedersen contributed 11 points and 7 assists and Jeanette Pohlen added 11 points and 8 assists. Stanford nailed 59% of their three pointers, 55% of their shots, and grabbed 11 more rebounds to outpace UC Davis. The Aggies were led by Paige Mintun (17 points) and Heidi Heintz (11 points).
