College Football Rankings, Week 11: USA Today/Coaches Poll Bumps Stanford To No. 2

Editor's Note: Check out the Week 11 BCS Rankings.

The week eleven USA Today/Coaches Poll was released Sunday morning and the voters did not make any drastic changes at the top of the poll. LSU retains its number one ranking following its victory over number two Alabama. The Tide were dropped down two spots to fourth with Stanford and Oklahoma State each rising up a notch. Stanford is now No. 2 in the country and Oklahoma State is No. 3.

The human polls are often fairly predictable, but it was tough to tell what the coaches would do with Alabama following a tight loss to the Tigers. It would not have surprised me to see Alabama drop only a spot, but two spots is a reasonable drop for that first loss.

Stanford handled their business against Oregon State in a bit of an early dogfight. It will potentially hurt them in the computer ratings, but in the coaches poll they keep on moving up. At this point their only hope for moving any further hope in the USA Today/Coaches' poll would be a fairly stunning upset of LSU in the next few weeks.

Stanford faces the toughest challenge among the ranked teams next week as they host No. 6 Oregon. Although they do need to keep on winning after next week, Oregon is the biggest game left on their schedule. The Ducks are incredibly athletic, which can cause problems for Stanford, as we saw last week against USC.

Here are your top ten from the Week 11 USA Today/Coaches Poll:

1. LSU
2. Stanford
3. Oklahoma State
4. Alabama
5. Boise State
6. Oregon
7. Oklahoma
8. Arkansas
9. Virginia Tech
10. Clemson
