Stanford Vs. Notre Dame Score Update: Cardinal Take Early 7-0 Lead

Early on in the game pitting the Stanford Cardinal against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, everything appears to be going Stanford's way. The Cardinal have jumped out to a 7-0 lead in their final regular-season game of 2011.

Andrew Luck connected with big Levine Toilolo in the end zone for the first score of the game midway through the first quarter. Toilolo was able to stretch up and catch the pass over the head of the defensive back, and was then able to quickly get his second foot down before his shoulders landed out of bounds.

Later in the first quarter, the Cardinal defense came up big, with Chase Thomas sacking Notre Dame quarterback Tommy Rees, who then fumbled the ball to Stanford's Matthew Masifilo. Notre Dame has looked a bit disorganized in the early going.

Through the first quarter, Luck is 7-for-10 on passing attempts with 50 yards and a touchdown. Tyler Gaffney is the leading receiver and the leading passer, with 17 and 24 yards, respectively, on two catches and three carries.
