Stanford Vs. Colorado: Cardinal Cruise To 48-7 Victory

A dropped kickoff return on the first play of the game could have spelled doom for Stanford. Mere minutes later, Max Bergen blocked a field goal attempt, which he then ran back for a touchdown. Stanford never looked back from that point.

Colorado's only scoring drive of the game was a short Tyler Hansen touchdown pass to Tony Jones early in the second quarter. Stanford thoroughly befuddled the Buffaloes on both sides of the ball for the duration of the game. When all was said and done, Andrew Luck finished with 392 passing yards and three touchdown passes, two of them to Ryan Hewitt.

Colorado could only manage 11 first downs in the entire game, including a Stanford fumble that they recovered. Stanford scored two touchdowns in each of the first three quarters while holding the Buffaloes to a lone touchdown. The Cardinal added a 30-yard touchdown pass from Luck to Griff Whalen to put the game away for good in the fourth quarter.

With the victory, Stanford improves to 5-0 this season, and 3-0 in Pac-12 play.
