Scott Wolf is the beat writer for USC, so it's curious he'd drop this bizarro one-liner on his site.
We hear Michigan is waiting until after the Orange Bowl to hire Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh. Lane Kiffin will celebrate Jan. 4.
There's a reason I'm not linking to the article. Wolf hasn't earned the benefit of the doubt, because the anonymous sources he relies on for news seem to be as reliable as Pravda. Let's review exactly why he's not worthy of link-love, shall we?
- Wolf reported Keyshawn Jackson wore #1 as a Trojan. Whoops.
- Wolf published a report that Lendale White failed a drug test. That report was later to found erroneous, and it hurt White's draft stock. How courteous.
- Wolf reported C.J. Spiller would commit to USC. The next day he committed to Clemson. (He supposedly did the same thing with DeSean Jackson, who eventually committed to Cal, although I can't find an official source on this).
- Wolf reported initially from sources that kicker Mario Danielo committed suicide. The LAPD contradicted that report and stated that no one had come to that conclusion. Wolf later had to apologize for his statement.
Yeah. I think Cal fans should hold off on opening that bottle of champagne. You don't want to be tricked by a middle-aged man who loves taking advantage of his press pass to pose with all the various college football cheerleading troupes.
