College Football Rankings: Harris Interactive Poll Bumps Stanford To No. 8

The BCS standings are comprised of three factors: the USA Today/Coaches Poll, the Harris Interactive Poll, and a compilation of six computer rankings. We saw Stanford climb to ninth in the new USA Today/Coaches Poll and now we have the Harris Interactive Poll rankings (PDF).

This week’s Harris Poll has Stanford climbing past Alabama, Utah and Oklahoma, while being leapfrogged by LSU. LSU climbed six spots in the rankings thanks to their big win over Alabama. The SEC remains an intriguing battle ground with Alabama still having to play Auburn in the Iron Bowl. Rivalry matchups are always difficult as Stanford can attest from their annual battles with Cal in The Big Game.

All that remains for this week’s updated BCS standings are the six computer ratings. I’ve been googling them and am finally bookmarking those sites so hopefully we can get those posted as they appear.
