The Associated Press released their Week 13 college football poll and it reflects the same lack of major change as the USA Today/Coaches Poll. The AP Poll does not affect the BCS rankings as the AP pulled out a few years ago and was replaced by the Harris Interactive Poll.
However, the AP poll can be of value since it includes the media much like part of the Harris poll includes the media. Both the AP and Harris poll have Boise State third and TCU fourth, so that’s something to keep in mind. Stanford remains seventh in the AP poll although like in the Coaches Poll they gained ground on the team ahead of them. Wisconsin climbed from No. 6 to No. 5 ahead of LSU, while the Cardinal now only trail LSU by 16 points. That is good for a gain of 31 points on the No. 6 team. Of course, LSU closes at No. 12 Arkansas next week, so if they win they’ll put some ground between themselves and Stanford.
