The second human ranked poll has come out and the Stanford Cardinal football team is hanging steady at number eight. The Harris Interactive College Football Poll is voted on by former coaches, players and administrators, as well as current and former media members. Along with the USA Today/Coaches Poll and the computer rankings, it represents one third of the final BCS rankings.
Stanford didn’t drop from the No. 8 spot, but they did lose a few points which will have a slight effect on their BCS ranking. The more points you have the better value you get for each poll. Stanford was 21 points behind Ohio State last week and is now 24 points back of the Buckeyes.
The other big impact is that Boise State climbed over TCU in this poll as they did in the coaches poll. This development makes me feel somewhat comfortable stating that my previous BCS prediction for this week is probably going to be incorrect. It seems likely that Boise State will pass TCU and reclaim the third spot in this week’s BCS rankings.
