San Jose Sharks defenseman Douglas Murray will hope to help his team improve on their current standing when they host Karlskrona HK and Asploven HC at home this week.
Djurgardens IF currently sits in seventh place with 10 points, seven points behind first place Orebro HK. Djurgardens IF trails fifth place Karlskrona HK by five points in the standings while resting one point ahead of Asploven HC.
Murray has tallied two penalty minutes and a minus four rating while failing to record a point through four games in the Allsvenskan league. Gabriel Landeskog of the Colorado Avalanche is also playing alongside Murray on Djurgardens IF during the NHL Lockout.
Murray, a native of Sweden, was selected in the eighth round by the Sharks in the 1999 NHL Draft and had four assists and 31 penalty minutes with a plus three rating in 60 games during the 2011-12 season. Murray also had 19 penalty minutes and a minus one rating in five playoff games for the Sharks last season.
