Sharks Vs. Kings Preview: It All Comes Down To This

The 2011-12 NHL regular season will come to an end on Saturday and really, could it have ever ended any other way than this? (I mean that figuratively. I know the season schedule has been drawn up for some time.) The Los Angeles Kings will come to the Shark Tank for one last dogfight, fresh on the heels of the instant classic the two teams put on Thursday night.

Both teams will be headed to the playoffs, but the seeding has not yet been sorted out. The Sharks and Kings are knotted at 94 points each and both stand one point behind the Phoenix Coyotes in the Pacific Division. The Coyotes will also have their last game on Saturday, against the Minnesota Wild. If the Coyotes win, they take the division and the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference. If they lose in regulation, the winner of the Sharks-Kings game takes the division title.

No matter what, Saturday's game will be full of emotion and intensity. There is no guarantee these teams will meet again in the postseason. The puck will drop at 7:30 p.m. PT and will air on both CSN-CA and NBCSN (formerly Vs.). You can listen to the radio broadcast on KFOX.
