VIDEO: Marc-Edouard Vlasic Scores Own Goal, Gives Blues 1-0 Lead Over Sharks

In Saturday's playoff game between the San Jose Sharks and the St. Louis Blues, the boys in teal are doing an excellent job of trying to give the win away early. In the first period of play, Marc-Edouard Vlasic was attempting to clear a puck that got through the legs of Sharks goalkeeper Antti Niemi, but ended up knocking it into the net, scoring a Sharks own goal ... one that was credited to Blues skater Vladimir Sobotka (unassisted). check out the forehead-slapping play after the jump.

While there is still a lot of game left to play, this is the sort of boneheaded move that breaks wills and crushes spirits. And this was just in the first two minutes of play! Well, I guess if the Sharks are going to lose, it's better to lose because of a goal by a Sharks player, right? Right?

Ugh.
