Sharks Vs. Predators Preview: Nashville Looking To Avenge Loss

The San Jose Sharks were unable to secure a 6-0 road trip, but got a six-game homestand off to a good start on Thursday when they beat the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-3 in a shootout. On Saturday, they'll continue their homestand with a game against the Nashville Predators, the second of four meetings between the two teams this season. San Jose took a 3-1 win in Nashville on Oct. 25. Joe Pavelski scored two third period goals to lift the Sharks to that win, while Logan Couture notched one as well earlier in the game with a shortie.

Third quarter comebacks are becoming a staple of the slow-starting Sharks, as Thursday's game against the Penguins was taken to overtime after third period goals from Ryane Clowe and Jamie McGinn. Clowe also went on to score again in the shootout. Antti Niemi had been pulled after allowing two goals in the first two minutes of the game in favor of Thomas Greiss, who stopped 29 of 30 shots in the San Jose victory.

For Nashville, they're just looking to avenge a loss to the Sharks and get some kind of momentum going on this road trip. They're in the middle of a group of five games on the road, and dropped the first one to the Chicago Blackhawks. They did win their last outing, a 3-0 shutout of the Phoenix Coyotes.

The game is set for 7:30 p.m. and will be on CSN California.
