Sharks To Finish Road Trip Against Rangers, Face Penguins, Predators At End Of Week

The San Jose Sharks are on a five-game winning streak and all of them are on the road. They'll wrap-up the six-game road trip with a game against the New York Rangers on Monday. For more on the game and the team in general, head on over to Fear The Fin.

The San Jose Sharks are riding a five-game winning streak, all of them on the road, and are wrapping that up on Monday with a game against the New York Rangers. They're looking to finish out their six-game road trip undefeated before returning to the HP Pavilion in San Jose on Nov. 3. San Jose is coming off a thrilling overtime victory over the New York Islanders and are coming into this game against the Rangers very confident.

Winning 3-2 in their last outing, the Sharks have things working on just about all fronts, especially defenseman Brent Burns. He had the winning goal in overtime with a one-timer over goalie Rick DiPietro. Burns was acquired in the offseason in a trade that sent a 2011 first-round pick, 2010's first-round pick Charlie Coyle, and Devin Setoguchi to the Minnesota Wild in return.

Sitting at 3-3-3 on the season, the Rangers still don't have a win at home on the season. That's significant because they're in the middle of a six-game homestand and have lost their last two games, to the Maple Leafs and Senators. They've got three more games on this homestand following the Sharks' visit, and they need to turn it around sooner rather than later. Part of their woes this season is the lack of production from Brad Richards, who hasn't quite found his place on the team just yet after being added this offseason.

That game is set for 4:00 p.m. pacific on the Versus network.

San Jose will finish out their week with games against the Penguins and the Predators, both at home. The game against Pittsburgh will begin a six-game homestand for the team that's been so hot on the road this season. Pittsburgh will come to town on Thursday, Nov. 3 and the Predators will be there two days later at the end of the week, Nov. 5.
