The Sharks power play continued to roll, and captain Joe Thornton picked up a goal, getting points in consecutive games, but along with Devin Setoguchi's score, it wasn't enough to give the Sharks a win. Antero Niittymaki didn't look bad in the net, but Antti Niemi definitely handled himself better in game one.
Ethan Moreau gave the Blue Jackets the goal in overtime to put them up 3-2 and hand them a win. The play began with a Dany Heatley turnover on the blue line neutral zone, where Fedor Tyutin scooped it up and fired off a pass to Moreau, who got his shot high and inside the right post above Niittymaki's glove hand.
Steve Mason stopped 33-of-35 for the Blue Jackets and Niittymaki stopped 22-of-25. It will be interesting to see the starting schedule for Niemi-Niittymaki after their respective performances in Sweden.
