After the San Jose Earthquakes began their 2012 campaign with a bang last week, they put up an unfortunate loss at the hands of the Houston Dynamo thanks to some great defense from Houston and some poor shooting from San Jose.
Houston's Brian Ching make the most of a first-half penalty kick finished off by Brian Davis converted for the lone goal of the match for the 1-0 victory over the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday evening at AT&T Park in San Francisco.
It took the Dyanmo 16 games last season before earning a win on the road, but the win Saturday marked the second 1-0 road victory. They made last year's MLS Cup final despite going 2-6-9 away from home.
As for the Quakes, who were outshot 22-8 but couldn't get one through in the net, in fact they only got one shot on goal, a Ramiro Corrales blast in the first half of the match.
The Quakes now face off against Toronto FC at BMO Field up in Canada next Saturday, March 24, with kickoff set for 10 a.m. PT.
