Giants Vs. Dodgers, Final Score: Barry Zito, Buster Posey Lead G-Men To 4-0 Victory

The Los Angeles Dodgers would be without their Cy Young winner Sunday night as they concluded their series at AT&T Park with the San Francisco Giants. Luckily for the Black and Orange Barry Zito pitched like his former Cy Young self as the Giants blanked the Dodgers by the score of 4-0.

Hunter Pence, Marco Scutaro and Buster Posey were the Giants' offense tonight. Pence's RBI double in the first got the Giants an early 2-0 lead, while Scutaro plated Angel Pagan with a sacrifice fly in the fifth to make it 3-0. Posey would add the finishing touch with a solo shot to center field in the sixth, his 20th of the season.

Zito (W 11-8) tossed 6.1 scoreless innings this evening, giving up just four hits and three walks while fanning four on 108 pitches tonight. The bullpen took over from there, using a five-man battery to finish of L.A. and extend their lead to 5.5 games with just a few weeks left in the season.

The Dodgers scratched Clayton Kershaw this evening with a hip issue, having Joe Blanton (L 9-13) fill in on short notice. He got tagged four all four runs on six hits in 5.1 innings of work.

San Francisco now heads to Denver for a three game set with the Colorado Rockies, starting with Ryan Vogelsong taking on Alex White on Monday.
