Giants Vs. Dodgers Game Recap: Late Lead Slips Away In 3-2 Loss

A pair of late runs snatched defeat from the jaws of victory on Saturday afternoon for the San Francisco Giants, as they lost 3-2 to the rival Los Angeles Dodgers at AT&T Park. The win lowered the Giants' division lead to 4½ games over Los Angeles.

Matt Cain pitched 7 1/3 strong innings and allowed two runs, but suffered a no-decision. His wild pitch allowed pinch runner Alex Castellanos to score the tying run in the eighth inning.

Jeremy Affeldt allowed a leadoff triple to Adrian Gonzalez in the ninth inning, then allowed an RBI double to Hanley Ramirez for the winning run for the Dodgers.

Buster Posey had a double, and RBI single, and a walk in four plate appearances for the Giants, who are 8-6 against the Dodgers this season, including 4-4 in San Francisco. Marco Scutaro went 1-for-2 with two walks and a run scored in defeat for the Giants.

Barry Zito starts the series finale for the Giants on Sunday night in a nationally televised game on ESPN. Clayton Kershaw pitches the series finale for the Dodgers.
