2012 MLB All-Star Game: Melky Cabrera Receives Camaro For MVP Honors [VIDEO]

Baseball, hot dogs, apple pie and Chevrolet, doesn't get much more American than that.

Which is why I am surprised that Major League Baseball did not have a fresh slice a la mode along with a Nathan's frank with all the fixings waiting for San Francisco Giants outfielder Melky Cabrera, when he took home MVP honors for Tuesday night's All-Star game. He had already gotten the baseball, but Bud Selig and a few of the suits over at Chevy gave the Melk Man a brand new Camero for his outstanding play at Kauffman Stadium.

Melky also got a glass or crystal bat (I can't really tell) and 'makeover' for a baseball field in his hometown care of Chevrolet as well.

You can check out the ceremony below. Cabrera's english isn't all that good, but he gives it his best effort as his family is there along side of him. You can tell that he is humbled by all of this, and couldn't have gone to a more deserving guy (just don't ask Braves fans about that).

More over, let's not forget in all of this just what Melky and the rest of the National League did. They ensured the Giants would have home field advantage in the World Series again this year, which may be worth more than any car of hot dog that money could buy.
