Giants Vs. Padres: Tim Lincecum Looking For Answers At Petco Park

The San Francisco Giants have been firing on all cylinders as of late, though one man who still is searching for his mid-season form in righty Tim Lincecum. Despite pitching decently his results have been far from what he would like, but could gain some confidence against a San Diego Padres squad hurting in more ways that one at the moment.

Lincecum showed signs of getting out of his funk in his last start, allowing just two runs in seven innings of work, though he still could not avoid the one terrible inning that sinks him and took his sixth loss of the year. Nevertheless he loves to face San Diego where he is 4-1 with a 2.23 ERA in his last five starts at Petco.

Timmy will be up against Anthony Bass, who looked good against the Giants back in April though still took the loss. He retired the first 17 hitters he faced before allowing two runs over eight innings.

Worth noting: Giants pitchers have gone seven consecutive starts of at least seven innings while allowing two runs or fewer. That's the second time since 1958 that they've done that (previously: July 1-10, 1988, nine straight games). Yeah, that's good.

First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. PT with coverage on CSN Bay Area and KNBR 680 AM in the Bay Area, while Fox Sports San Diego and XPRS 1090 AM will have the call in SD.
