The San Francisco Giants continue their interleague play this season with a three game set in the great northwest against the Seattle Mariners at Safeco Field. The Black and Orange continue to creep on the NL West leading Dodgers, looking to make up some more ground this weekend.
The Giants are 9-4 so far in June, much in part to a well-rounded attack of solid pitching, timely hitting and perfect defense. As for the M's, they've currently lost five in a row and are in desperate need of some victories to stay relevant in the AL West.
Jason Vargas (7-5, 3.90) takes on Ryan Vogelsong (5-2, 2.26) in game one of this set. Vargas gave up five runs in six innings of work to take the loss in his last time out, while Vogelsong continues to stay away from the L's, winning his two last outing against the Rangers and Cubs. Vogey now hasn't lost a game since May 3. First pitch is set for 7:10 p.m. PT with coverage on NBC Bay Area and KNBR 680 AM.
Kevin Milwood (3-5, 3.57) squares off against Tim Lincecum (2-7, 6.00) on Saturday as the Seattle native makes his Safeco debut. Millwood pitched six innings scoreless against the Dodgers in his last start, but got a no decision for his efforts. Lincecum he hasn't won a game now since April 28, hoping a hometown crowd will spark him to victory. First pitch is set for 7:10 p.m. PT on CSN Bay Area and KNBR 680 AM.
Felix Hernandez (4-5, 3.70) squares off against Madison Bumgarner (8-4, 3.08) in the series finale Sunday. King Felix gave up five earned runs in six innings of work in his last start, a loss against the Padres, while Bumgarner is on a roll once again, looking for his fourth straight win in a row. First pitch is set for 1:10 p.m. PT with coverage on CSN Bay Area and KNBR 680 AM.
