The Giants' minor league teams near the midpoint of their seasons, and the two California affiliates find themselves in second place. It has been a strong year for pitching prospects such as Eric Hacker, Kyle Crick and Chris Heston, but many of the position players who were expected to excel have done poorly.

He pitched six innings and gave up two runs, while striking out seven. Conor Gillaspie homered and walked twice in the game. Fresno stands a half game back of Sacramento, at 40-24 on the year.
AA: Richmond was off Monday, but stands in last place in their division at 29-34.
