Giants Minor League Affiliate Update

Several Giants farmhands have had big weeks, with Richmond CF Gary Brown stealing his eighth base and San Jose LF Jarrett Parker hitting his fifth home run. SP Kyle Crick had a solid outing on Sunday for Augusta, striking out eight and going six innings for the win. Here are the results from Monday night:

AAA: Fresno was rained out Monday night. They are 23-7 this year, comfortably in first place in the PCL. They will host Iowa from May 8-11.

AA: Richmond defeated Harrisburg 2-0. Justin Fitzgerald threw 8.1 shutout innings for the Flying Squirrels, striking out eight. C Tommy Joseph went 3-3, raising his batting average to .248. Ehire Adrianza went 2-4 and is now batting .224. Richmond is now 15-17 in third place in the Eastern League’s Western Division. They continue their three-game set with Harrisburg Tuesday and Wednesday.

A+: San Jose lost to Modesto 10-7. Ricky Oropesa, Carter Jurica, and Chris Lofton each had 2 RBI in the game. SP Shawn Sanford took the loss, having given up a grand slam in the first inning to Modesto LF Juan Crousset. San Jose stands at 19-11, in first place in the California League North Division. They continue their three-game series with Modesto on Tuesday and Wednesday.

A: Augusta lost to Hagerstown 11-3. CF John Eshleman had three hits for the Greenjackets, while SP Paul Davis gave up six runs in only two innings of work. Augusta will wrap up their series against Hagerstown on Tuesday and then begin a four game set with Greenville on Wednesday. The Greenjackets are 12-15, in seventh place in the South Atlantic League’s Southern Division.
