San Francisco Giants Expected To Activate Aubrey Huff On Monday

The San Francisco Giants need their lineup to be as strong as possible in the coming weeks with Pablo Sandoval on the disabled list. With Aubrey Huff out to an anxiety disorder, the lineup has struggled to consistently score runs. Fortunately for the Giants and manager Bruce Bochy, Huff is expected back sooner rather than later.

According to this story from the AP, the veteran first baseman thinks he'll be ready to go on Monday once his stint on the DL ends.

"I hope so," Huff told The Associated Press. "A lot has been lifted off my chest the last two weeks."

It will be interesting to see how the Giants use Huff. Young first baseman Brandon Belt has played very well since getting regular playing time, and it would be tough for them to bench him in favor of Huff right now, although it has been done in the past. There is also the chance that Huff and Belt share time at first and at the two corner outfield spots, although the defense takes a serious hit when this happens.

The training staff will have to wait and see how Huff progresses over the next 48 hours or so, but it does look like he'll be returning to San Francisco in the very near future.
