Giants Vs. Marlins: San Francisco Turns To Tim Lincecum Against Miami's Josh Johnson

The San Francisco Giants awoke the proverbial beast against the Miami Marlins Thursday night, dropping a season high 14 runs on 15 hits en route to their first win at Marlins Park in as many games. Now they'll turn to Tim Lincecum on Friday as the Black an Orange square off with Josh Johnson and the Fish.

Lincecum (2-4 6.04) has just one quality start all season, struggling through four innings of his last outing before being yanked with four runs and three walks to his name on a whopping 90 pitches. He's still been fanning people with great consistency, averaging 10 strikeouts per nine innings pitched, but can't seem to put it all together yet. Hopefully that will change today.

Miami's Josh Johnson has also been struggling to find his former dominant self so far this year, but has been turning it around as of late after allowing two runs or fewer in his last three starts, all lasting seven innings. Nevertheless, he still owns a 4.82 ERA and a 1.51 WHIP, while his .301 BAA is the fifth-highest in the National League.

Melky Cabrera and Giancarlo Stanton have simply been red-hot as of late at the plate, whit Stanton launching his ninth homer of the month last night, while the Melk Man had his 22nd multi-hit game of the year last night, his 67th in total. Both of those are the top marks in all of baseball.

First pitch is scheduled for 4:10 p.m. PT this evening with coverage on CSN Bay Area and KNBR 680 AM in the Bay, while Fox Sports Florida, WAXY 790 and WAQI 710.
