Yoenis Cespedes Injury: Oakland A's Slugger Nearing Return To Lineup

The Oakland Athletics are eagerly awaiting the return of slugger Yoenis Cespedes. After missing the last two weeks with a hand injury, Cespedes has recovered well and could return to the lineup by mid-week. While Oakland could definitely use his bat back in the batting order, it is imperative to ensure that Cespedes is completely healthy before making a return to the field.

Here is the latest from Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle.

You would think that Cespedes would need a few days to get acclimated with his bat and get used to live pitching, but it really depends on how he feels in the next few days. The A's are just 4-6 in their last 10 games without Cespedes in the order and have dropped down to .500 on the season, so a return by Wednesday seems probable at this point.
