If the San Francisco Giants weren’t already low on veteran faces on their roster, they just lost another one as the team has placed second baseman Ryan Theriot on the disabled list, while purchasing releif pitcher Shane Loux contract in the process:
Per Andrew Baggarly on Twitter:
The Giants purchased Loux’s contract. Ryan Theriot has some right elbow inflammation. Giants back at 12 pitchers.

No 40-man move needed for Loux because Mota’s suspension created avacancy.

The Giants are essentially down to Fresno’s Finest at the moment, and I don’t think Aubrey Huff will be getting any time at second base in the meantime. This means that Bruce Bochy will just have to be that more creative with the lineups he produces.
