I can't beleive I'm going to say this, but Barry Zito was exactly what the doctor ordered for the San Francisco Giants on Monday.
After his brilliant 4-hit shutout of the Colorado Rockies, Zito took some time to discuss his performance with CSN Bay Area's Duane Kuiper and Mike Krukow after the game, talking about tweaking with his delivery this spring, the importance of stoping the bleeding for the Black and Orange, as well as the importance of rookie catcher Hector Sanchez, who according to Zito called 'a helluva a game.'
It's a bit shocking to most Giants fans that Zito has actually performed the best of their rotation thus far after Tim Lincecum, Madison Bumgarner and Matt Cain all got roughed up down in Arizona, but no one expects their struggles to continue into the season. Can we expect that Zito's success continues as well? Not exactly, but there's certainly hope.
