Giants Vs. Diamondbacks, MLB Scores: D-Backs Rally Late To Sweep Giants 7-6

The San Francisco Giants were looking to avoid being swept to start their 2012 campaign against the Arizona Diamondbacks, handing it over to Matt Cain to get the job done Sunday afternoon. The Black and Orange gave Cain a big lead early, but the D-backs clawed their way back by way of he long ball once again, eventually earning themselves the 7-6 come from behind victory.

Brandon Crawford and Emmanuel Burriss got the Giants started in the second with a two RBI double and an RBI groundout respectfully, followed by an RBI single in the third from Pablo Sandoval. Buster Posey launched his first home run of the first home run of the year in the very next at bat, giving the G-men a comfortable 6-0 lead.

But then it was the D-backs turn to do some damage, getting a two RBI double from Lyle Overbay in the botom of the fourth, than launching back-to-back jacks off Cain in the sixth by virtue of Ryan Roberts and Overbay once more to make it 6-5. Miguel Montero and Chris Young grounded into RBI fielder's choices in the seventh, with Aaron Hill scoring off of Buster Posey's second error of the year to take the lead 7-6. Skipper Bruce Bochy would get ejected this inning, and it never got any better for for the Black and Orange, suffering their third loss in as many days.

The loss would get tagged to Jeremy Affeldt, though Cain gave up five earned runs in his six innings of work, along with two walks and four strikeouts.

The Giants now head to Colorado for a three game set starting Monday.
