Bruce Bochy Talks With Aubrey Huff, Discusses First Base Platoon

San Francisco Giants first baseman Aubrey Huff spoke with San Francisco Giants manager Bruce Bochy recently about how he's doing dealing with his anxiety issues, which Bochy noted that he is doing well during this trying time:

"We had a pretty normal conversation," Bochy said. "He talked about continuing to work out, staying in shape, taking some swings. We didn't go into his situation as much as I just checked on him. We talked about the team. We're behind him and hope for the best."

Bochy mentioned that Huff is getting treatment somewhere in the Bay Area. Huff was seen exiting the batting cage prior to Saturday's game.

As for the first base situation, Bochy wasn't too worried:

"We're going to mix it up and hopefully get the matchups," Bochy said of the planned platoon. "These two young guys can help us and they're going to be getting some playing time over there with Huff down. Hopefully they can take advantage of it. You're always for production from that position and I think these two can give it to us."

Hector Sanchez was even seen taking some grounders at first recently, whom Hank Schulman reports may be a late-inning option there if need be.
